Terms of Use
Qwery ("the app," "we," "us") is a daily riddle game published by Jayma Labs. These Terms of Use cover your use of the app and of Qwery Pro, our optional subscription. By downloading or using Qwery, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
Qwery Pro Subscription
Qwery is free to play. Qwery Pro is an optional, auto-renewing subscription that adds:
- No ads
- Following an unlimited number of friends
- Access to the full archive of past Qwerys
Subscription terms at a glance
- Length and price: Qwery Pro renews monthly at $1.99 USD per month, or the equivalent price in your local currency. The App Store or Google Play shows the exact price before you confirm.
- Payment: Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase.
- Auto-renewal: Your subscription renews automatically each month unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Cancelling: You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep Qwery Pro until the end of the period you've already paid for.
Managing or cancelling
- iPhone and iPad: open the Settings app, tap your name, then tap Subscriptions.
- Android: open the Google Play Store app, tap your profile picture, then tap Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
- In Qwery: once you're subscribed, tap Settings → Qwery Pro to go to your store's subscription page.
Deleting the app or deleting your Qwery account does not cancel your subscription. Only the App Store or Google Play can do that, so cancel there first if you no longer want to be charged.
Accounts and restoring purchases
You need a Qwery account (signed in, with a username) to subscribe. Your subscription is tied to that account and to the App Store or Google Play account you purchased with. If you reinstall the app or switch to a new device on the same platform, use Settings → Restore purchases to get Qwery Pro back. A subscription bought on one platform (for example, iOS) may not carry over to the other (Android).
Refunds
Apple and Google process all payments, so they handle refunds under their own policies. We can't issue refunds directly. To request one, use reportaproblem.apple.com for App Store purchases, or Google Play's refund page for Google Play purchases.
Price and feature changes
We may change what Qwery Pro includes or what it costs. If the price goes up, Apple or Google will tell you before it takes effect, following their rules. Where their rules require it, they'll also ask for your consent before charging the new price.
Your Account
You can play without an account. If you create one, you're responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for activity on your account. You can delete your account at any time in the app. See our Privacy Policy for what that removes.
Other Qwery users can see your username and gameplay stats, for example on the leaderboard and in friends lists. Don't choose a username that is offensive, impersonates someone else, or infringes someone's rights. We may remove a username, reset stats, or suspend an account that breaks these Terms.
Fair Play
When using Qwery, please don't:
- Use bots, scripts, or modified versions of the app to solve riddles or manipulate streaks and leaderboards
- Reverse engineer, interfere with, or try to gain unauthorized access to the app or its servers
- Harass other players, or use Qwery for anything unlawful
- Copy, republish, or sell Qwery's riddles or other content
Ads
The free version of Qwery shows ads provided by Google AdMob. Depending on where you live and the choices you make in the app's consent prompts, these ads may be personalized or non-personalized. Qwery Pro removes ads.
Our Content
Jayma Labs or its licensors own the app and its content, including the riddles, artwork, and rank badges. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for your own non-commercial enjoyment, on devices you own or control.
App Store and Google Play
If you downloaded Qwery from Apple's App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to your use of the app, and these Terms supplement it. If you downloaded Qwery from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service apply to your purchases. Apple and Google aren't responsible for Qwery or its support. For questions about the app, contact us.
Disclaimers
Qwery is provided "as is" and "as available." We work to keep it running smoothly, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free, or that stats, streaks, or leaderboard positions will never be lost or reset because of a bug or outage. We may change, pause, or discontinue features at any time.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Jayma Labs isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Qwery. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for Qwery Pro in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be waived.
Ending Your Use
You can stop using Qwery at any time by deleting your account and uninstalling the app. If you subscribe to Qwery Pro, also cancel your subscription in the App Store or Google Play. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms.
Changes to These Terms
If these Terms change, we'll update the effective date above and post the revised version at this same address. If you keep using Qwery after a change, you accept the updated Terms.
